What should I wear to class?
Any comfortable clothing is fine. Wear something you might wear to go for a walk around your neighborhood. Avoid overly tight or restrictive clothing.
I recommend wearing flat shoes to do tai chi. For indoor classes, you can wear sneakers, dance shoes, or any other flat shoe, or you can practice tai chi barefoot. For outdoor classes, please wear flat, outdoor shoes.
Can anyone learn tai chi?
Tai Chi is appropriate for people of all ages and abilities. It is gentle and relaxing to practice and the movements of tai chi are practiced in slow motion. It is similar to walking in terms of physical exertion.
How often should I practice tai chi?
The health benefits of tai chi come with regular practice. Begin with five to ten minutes daily working upwards. The greatest benefits occurs with longer and frequent practice. Aim for 30-60 minutes most days of the week.
